• Several Hanover College athletes have been named to the Christopher M. Ragsdale Sportsmanship teams for the spring season by the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference.

The sportsmanship award was developed as part of a conference-wide sportsmanship initiative in 2009. Members of the All-HCAC Sportsmanship team are selected by the coaches and their teammates as individuals who demonstrate the ideals of positive sportsmanship both on and off the field/court of competition. Nominees must have demonstrated consistently the values of respect, and integrity in his or her daily participation in intercollegiate athletics.

Hanover honorees are: Jacob Dupps, baseball; Griffin Reynolds , men’s golf; Owen Parker, men’s lacrosse; Katie Comer, women’s lacrosse; Dani Steward, softball; Luke Kroeger, men’s tennis; Luke Hommell, men’s outdoor track & field; and Aimsley Logsdon, women’s outdoor track & field.

• The 2022 Shawe Basketball Camp will be held May 31 through June 3 at Shawe Memorial High School.

The camp is open to kids in grades kindergarten through eighth grade and costs $40. Forms and payment should be turned in by May 26 at the school in order to guarantee a T-shirt.

• The inaugural Hanover Hackers Open will take place Saturday, June 4, at Butler Falls Golf Course in Hanover.

The cost of the four-man scramble will be $50 per person. The fee includes greens fees, cart and lunch. Registration will be 8 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Money awards to top three teams. Awards will go to longest drive on hole No. 1 and closest to the pin on the par 3s. Proceeds will benefit the Hanover Parks Department.
